A veteran of ragtime festivals across the country, Alexander Sandor has been living with ragtime since birth, when his father would set him under the piano while practicing Scott Joplin.  Mr. Sandor recently presented a lecture recital in New York City entitled Ragtime Sings the Jews with Cantor Daniel Singer and renown ragtime scholar Ed Berlin. Mr. Sandor’s recordings, Fingerbuster and Cascades, have made their way to every continent on Earth. The Rag Times writes, “his is a prodigious talent, and every piece is arranged so that he is all over the keyboard before the ending”.  In 2016 he performed, with Lake Superior Chamber Orchestra, the U.S. premiere of Leo Smit’s Concerto, a stylistic predecessor of Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.  He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Superior.
